Hope – noun or a verb ?? The thesaurus describes it succintly and I would prefer to go with the antonyms . That should not indicate that I am a pessimist, only, I do not live in fool’s paradise.
There is no God, it is only our hope. People dying on battle field hope God, the Savior will come and save them, people victimized by terrorist attack hope that the merciful God will save them, people dying of hunger and starvation pray for food…….. truth is God doesn’t come and help, it is the human who is always the first and last responder. Better defence, better security measures, better food distribution can address such pathos. Darwin’s theory of survival comes to mind ……we are survivors, hence we hope for a better and beautiful tomorrow.
Hope is the powerhouse that resides in us, but hope is future tense !
Look at those intense, hopeful eyes of these three friends ! They are school children who do not go to school. During my short conversation with them, I asked what they plan to do in future as they are not interested in school education ? Prompt came the answer, God will show us the way. We are having too much fun in the present 😉 …….and they started giggling 😀 The same hope of God the merciful, showing them the path.
But I couldn’t help clicking those shiny, hopeful eyes !
Life is not made of great things but millions of small moments. Just like I sip my morning tea, sitting out in the balcony, basking in the glorious sunlight.
The last couple of years have been hopeless for me, should I hope for a hopeful future ?
That is my extentialism…….. and it has nothing to do with hope.

Beautiful and intelligent looking kids. I wish them a better life. Life is hard, but hope is the only resource we have not to fall in depression. Yesterday we got a new president of the country. She promises milk and honey, but I know she is fake, and things will get worse, and yet… I have to believe in miracles.
